Statement on Sports and Polls from MHP Leader Bahçeli
Devlet Bahçeli reacted to the use of sports and public opinion polls to undermine social peace and warned against provocations.
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli issued a written statement stating that sports and polls are being used to poison the climate of peace and brotherhood. Touching upon Amedspor's success in the Super Lig, Bahçeli emphasized that sports should not be made a tool of identity politics while warning against provocations carried out through public opinion polls.
Goal of a Terror-Free Turkey and Provocation Warnings
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli stated in a written statement that recently, so-called researchers acting as puppets of imperialism have been trying to poison the goal of a Terror-Free Turkey.
Bahçeli stated that the law adopted in the Turkish Grand National Assembly is an important step in terms of social integration and that this process must be protected against sabotages.
Amedspor's Super Lig Success and the Unifying Power of Sports
Stating that he welcomes Amedspor's success in promotion to the Super Lig with satisfaction, Bahçeli emphasized that associating sports with identity politics is a grave mistake.
Stating that sports must rise on the foundations of peace, brotherhood, and fair play, the MHP leader asked clubs to stay away from provocative initiatives.
Emphasis on Public Opinion Polls and Spiritual Values
Bahçeli noted that the so-called research targeting the beliefs and values of the Turkish nation are fifth-column activities aimed at manipulating society.
He expressed that polling studies far from being scientific should be audited and criminal sanctions should be introduced for those presenting false information.
