Sultan of the Net's European Championship Awards Finalized
The awards and federation revenue for the A National Women's Volleyball Team, which won the gold medal at the 2026 CEV Trendyol European Volleyball Championship, have been announced.
The cash prizes to be given to the players and technical staff of the A National Women's Volleyball Team, who achieved great success by reaching the European championship, and the payment amounts to be made by CEV to the federation have been finalized.
European Championship and Olympic Quota
The A National Women's Volleyball Team defeated their opponent Italy 3-2 in the final of the 2026 CEV Trendyol Women's European Volleyball Championship, claiming the gold medal for the second time. With this major victory, the Crescent-Stars team earned the right to directly participate in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Payment to Be Made to the Federation
Following this significant championship success, the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) will make a total payment of 500 thousand Euros to the Turkish Volleyball Federation.
Awards to Be Given to Athletes and Coach
In accordance with current government regulations, each player in the championship squad will be awarded approximately 7 million TL, equivalent to 150 Republic gold coins. Head coach Daniele Santarelli will be paid approximately 1 million 343 thousand TL, equivalent to 30 Republic gold coins.
