Swimming Records, Forvia Sale Plan, and NPE2027 Registration

While the records set by polyurethane suits used for just two years in swimming are still discussed, French automotive supplier Forvia is holding talks to sell its Clarion Electronics unit, and registration processes for the NPE2027 plastics trade show in Orlando have officially opened.

The Impact of Polyurethane Swimsuits

Polyurethane suits, used in swimming only in 2008 and 2009, drew attention with the buoyancy and gliding advantages they provided to athletes. Some of the records broken during this period are still held by male athletes.

International swimmer and consultant Helen Gorman noted that these special suits provided virtually turbo-like support by slowing down the athletes' fatigue process. Fairness debates had started following the records broken at the 2009 world championships.

Forvia's Restructuring and Sale Plan

French automotive supplier Forvia SA is considering divesting its Clarion Electronics unit in order to streamline its operations and reduce its debt.

Encompassing infotainment systems, displays, and automated parking technologies, Clarion Electronics reached approximately $900 million in sales in the first half of 2026. The company had previously announced plans to sell its automotive interior unit.

NPE2027 Plastics Show Registration

Exhibitor registration has officially opened for NPE2027, North America's largest plastics trade show. The event will take place from May 3–7 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

Organized by the Plastics Industry Association and expecting over 2,200 exhibitors from 130 countries, the event offers various participation tiers. Exhibition floor access is provided free of charge for association members until a specific date.
