Two people lost their lives in a gym fire in Batman
Two people lost their lives and numerous others were hospitalized due to a fire that broke out in the sauna section of a private gym in Batman's Gültepe neighborhood, and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
A fire broke out for reasons yet to be determined in the sauna section of a private gym located in the Gültepe neighborhood of Batman. While numerous teams were dispatched to the facility, which was engulfed in thick smoke and flames, two people lost their lives and many others received medical treatment at the hospital.
Fire Breaks Out in Sauna Section
A fire broke out for an as-yet-unknown reason in the sauna section of a private gym situated in Batman's Gültepe neighborhood. The flames, which spread in a short time, and the thick smoke affected the entire facility.
Rapid Intervention by Teams
Upon the notification of citizens in the surrounding area, numerous fire, police, AFAD, UMKE, and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the scene. As a result of the intensive efforts of the teams, the fire was brought under control and extinguished, and those trapped in the building were safely evacuated.
Loss of Life and Hospital Process
A total of 12 people affected by the smoke in the incident were taken to various hospitals across the city. Şanziment Sarıoğlu and Emine Yağri, who were transferred to the Batman Training and Research Hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions and lost their lives.
Governorate and Investigation Works
Batman Governor Ekrem Canalp arrived at the scene to carry out inspections and received information from authorities regarding the ongoing work. While fire crews conducted four detailed scans of the building, it was announced that no trace of anyone else was found. Judicial and administrative investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
