Walk and Ceremony Held within the Scope of Amateur Sports Week in Sinop
During the opening program of Amateur Sports Week held in Sinop, protocol members and athletes marched and laid a wreath at the Atatürk Monument.
Amateur Sports Week events in Sinop officially started with a march and a wreath-laying ceremony. Officials speaking at the program emphasized the unifying power of sports.
March and Wreath-Laying Ceremony
Within the framework of the program organized by the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, protocol members and athletes gathered in front of the Sinop Historical Prison and Museum and marched to Government Square.
During the ceremony held at the square, a wreath was laid at the Atatürk Monument by Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Mehmet Kalyon.
Moment of Silence and National Anthem
Following the wreath-laying, participants observed a moment of silence, which was followed by the enthusiastic singing of the National Anthem.
The activities in the ceremony area were carried out in an orderly manner with the participation of the protocol and athletes.
Emphasis on the Importance of Amateur Sports
Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Mehmet Kalyon stated that amateur sports provide individuals with values such as discipline, perseverance, solidarity, brotherhood, and sportsmanship beyond physical development.
Drawing attention to the importance of spreading sports to the grassroots, Kalyon stated that the aim is to introduce children and youth to sports at an early age.
