Statement from the Ministry of National Defense on the Euphrates River Floating Bridge Project
The Ministry of National Defense announced the completion of the second floating bridge project on the Euphrates River, ongoing search and rescue operations, and a reaction to Israel's stance.
During the weekly press briefing held by the Ministry of National Defense, it was reported that the second floating bridge project on the Euphrates River, jointly carried out by the Turkish and Syrian armed forces, has been completed, while ongoing search and rescue efforts and regional developments were shared.
Euphrates River Floating Bridge Project Completed
The second floating bridge project on the Euphrates River, carried out in cooperation with the Turkish Armed Forces and the Syrian Armed Forces to contribute to the establishment of stability in Syria and the normalization of the daily lives of the people, was completed on August 30.
It was stated that the new project, built to replace the bridge that was previously destroyed due to a flood disaster, will significantly facilitate transportation between the two banks of the river and serves as a concrete indicator of solidarity between the two countries.
Search and Rescue Activities in Ship Accidents
While wishing God's mercy upon those who lost their lives in the accident involving the passenger ship that capsized while sailing from the TRNC to Taşucu on August 30, the Ministry stated that operations are ongoing with 7 ships, including the TCG Işın and TCG Alemdar belonging to the Naval Forces, and 11 aircraft.
Additionally, it was stated that Naval Forces and Air Force elements are supporting the search and rescue operations initiated after two commercial ships collided off the coast of Silivri in the Marmara Sea on September 2, in coordination with relevant institutions.
NATO Communicators Conference in Istanbul
It was announced that the NATO Communicators Conference, where NATO's communication approaches regarding the current security environment and developments in strategic communication will be discussed, will be held between September 7-10 at the Multinational Joint Warfare Center Command in Istanbul.
The Ministry also noted that within the scope of the meeting, it celebrated the September 1 Independence Day of the friendly and brotherly country Uzbekistan.
Harsher Reaction to Israel's Regional Stance
In its statement, the Ministry of National Defense emphasized that the Israeli government, which wants to turn the Middle East into an area of conflict, continues its expansionist and aggressive stance, calling on the international community to take concrete measures.
It was stated that Israel's military activities violating the territorial integrity of Syria and Lebanon harm regional and global security, and that this situation undermines confidence in international law.
