Enerji ve Tabii Kaynaklar Bakanı Alparslan Bayraktar: Türkiye kendi kendine yeten bir ülke olacak

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar explained Turkey's energy independence goals, details of the Osman Gazi Floating Production Platform, and the reverse brain drain during his statements in Filyos.

Details of the Osman Gazi Platform

The Osman Gazi Floating Production Platform, which will be sent off to its mission in the Black Sea at the end of October, contains 21 separate facilities. Seventy percent of these facilities were produced by Turkish industry.

Currently, 7,000 people are working on the platform, and approximately 30 kilometers of piping and 642 kilometers of cabling have been completed. This platform will continue production at the same location for 20 years.

Reverse Brain Drain and Human Resources

Drawing attention to the indigenization of human resources in the energy field, Minister Bayraktar stated that Turkish experts working abroad have returned upon hearing about the major operation in Turkey, and a reverse brain drain is taking place.

New Platform and Production Goals

It was stated that a new floating production platform will be commissioned in the third phase and its manufacturing is ongoing. The goal is to bring this platform to Turkey by the end of 2027 and put it into production in 2028.

While Turkish Petroleum aims to become a company producing 1 million barrels of oil and natural gas per day, the current figure of 350,000 barrels aims to be increased to 550,000-600,000 barrels in 2028.

Energy Security and Subsidies

It was emphasized that despite the global energy crisis, there are no supply security issues. Despite rising costs, state support on natural gas bills continues, and 250 billion liras in taxes have been waived through the Sliding Scale (Eşel Mobil) system.
