550 Researchers to Be Trained in the First Year of the Strategic Technology Program
Young researchers will be employed in the fields of informatics, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence through the program initiated by the Council of Higher Education.
In the first year of the Turkey Strategic Technology Human Resources Program, launched by the Council of Higher Education, 550 researchers will be trained in the fields of informatics, hardware, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. The program aims to integrate approximately 3,000 young researchers into the science and technology ecosystem over five years.
Scope and Objectives of the Program
According to the statement made by the Council of Higher Education, a total of 550 researchers will be trained in the first year in the fields of information technologies, hardware and computer systems, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence and smart systems. At the end of the five-year program, it is aimed to introduce approximately 3,000 young researchers to Turkey's science and technology ecosystem.
Training and Employment Process
Within the scope of the new model aiming to strengthen Turkey's science and technology ecosystem, 550 Ph.D. students will be selected through a centralized exam. Young researchers studying at twenty-three research universities will also be employed as research assistants, and knowledge production will be supported.
Application Schedule and Preferences
Applications will be made electronically between September 8 and September 22 via the CoHE's Application System for Ph.D. Programs in Priority Areas. Candidates will be granted a maximum of five choices from up to two different fields.
Exam and Evaluation Criteria
The centralized written exam will be held on November 28, and candidates scoring below 70 will be considered unsuccessful. The final success score will be calculated by combining 30 percent of the written exam score, 25 percent of the undergraduate graduation grade, 25 percent of the ALES score, and 20 percent of the foreign language exam score.

CoHE President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar stated that they will support Turkey's claims in the field of science and technology with qualified human resources through the program. Emphasizing that the success in the defense industry is based on trained human power, Özvar noted that they aim to carry a similar transformation into critical areas.
