Described by the company as China's most powerful AI chip built for frontier model training, the accelerator delivers approximately three times the performance of the previous model, with mass production scheduled for early 2027.
Future Model Targets
In addition to the chip announcement, Alibaba revealed plans to train its future foundational models with 5 trillion to 10 trillion parameters.
Global Data Center Expansion
The company aims to accelerate its global data center expansion over the next 12 months, including establishing its first cloud regions in Turkey, Finland, and the Netherlands.
2032 Infrastructure Strategy
Alibaba is also increasing its data center presence in Malaysia, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, France, and Hong Kong to support its strategy of building a 20-gigawatt global data center network by 2032.
