Blue Origin Introduces Power Tower Developed for NASA's Lunar Base
Jeff Bezos's space company Blue Origin has publicly announced the Power Tower solar panel system developed for NASA's lunar base operations.
Space company Blue Origin, founded by Jeff Bezos, has introduced a new solar panel system called Power Tower, designed to meet electricity demands in NASA's planned lunar base operations.
Features of the Power Tower System
Designed for Moon Base projects planned to be established in the Moon's south pole region, the Power Tower stands out as a vertically deployable solar panel system.
This special tower structure, reaching a height of approximately 20 meters, has the capacity to provide over 10 kilowatts of electrical power.
Lunar Missions and the Artemis Schedule
NASA's lunar programs began with Artemis I in 2022, continued with Artemis II in 2026, and Artemis III and Artemis IV missions are planned to be carried out respectively.
It is stated that the developed modular architecture will support future surface networks, expanding energy capacity far beyond the lander.
