The Department of Science and Technology of Son La province is implementing various solutions to develop infrastructure, which is the cornerstone of digital transformation, and to close the connectivity gap. As a result of the efforts carried out in the region, 4G and 5G mobile coverage rates have reached significant levels.

Digital Infrastructure and Coverage Rates

The Department of Science and Technology of Son La province is applying synchronized solutions to improve infrastructure quality and expand the coverage area. Since the beginning of the year, new 4G mobile coverage areas have been established in villages across several communes.

According to the current situation, 98.4% of the population province-wide has 4G mobile coverage, while 67.1% has 5G mobile coverage.

Remaining Coverage Gaps and Institutions

Out of 2,233 villages across the province, 35 still lack coverage, and the overall coverage rate has been brought to the 98.3% level.

A one-hundred percent stable power supply is provided across all state institutions, educational institutions, and public health facilities.

Data Warehouse and Video Conferencing Systems

By establishing a shared data warehouse, more than 29 million records have been accumulated for the Open Data Portal and the Intelligent Operations Center.

Video conferencing systems have been established in 163 different locations to ensure uninterrupted connectivity in routing and management processes.

Geographical Challenges and Future Goals

Despite encountering various challenges such as the region's mountainous geography and high investment costs, efforts continue with determination.

The Ministry of Science and Technology continues its activities to increase broadband internet access and facilitate access to digital services.
