Emphasis on technology and ethics at the Konya Science Festival
Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi stated at the opening of the festival in Konya that Turkey produces its own technology in the defense industry and that science and ethics must be combined.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 11th Konya Science Festival, Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi pointed out the importance of science and technology meeting with ethics, stating that Turkey has left behind its foreign dependency in the field of defense and is developing its own systems.
The Union of Science and Ethics
In his speech at the opening program at the Konya Science Center, Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi drew attention to the importance of raising conscientious engineers and ethical scientists. He stated that tomorrow's architects, who love their country and nation, must be raised with this awareness.
Domestic Production in the Defense Industry
Stating that Turkey has reached an important turning point in technology and the defense industry, Çiftçi noted that aircraft and devices that could not be acquired in the past despite paying for them are now being developed with domestic resources.
National Technology Initiative
Expressing that Turkish scientists and engineers have great efforts in the skies, the Blue Homeland, and space studies, Çiftçi emphasized that the march within the scope of the national technology initiative continues with unmanned aerial vehicles, helicopters, radars, and missile systems.
Konya's Leading Role
Stating that Konya is in a position to be one of the pioneering cities of the Century of Turkey in the fields of science, technology, industry, and production, Çiftçi expressed that the younger generation should be individuals who produce technology rather than just consume it.
Festival Events and Shows
Over 200 scientific events are being held at the festival, organized in an area of approximately 100,000 square meters. While children and youth engage in hands-on activities in many fields ranging from astronomy to physics, a show performed with 1,000 drones following the program attracted great interest.
