Food Security and Climate Cooperation Between Vietnam and Singapore
During high-level talks held in Hanoi, the two countries decided to deepen their joint efforts in food security and combating climate change.
The Committee for Science, Technology and Environment of the Vietnamese National Assembly hosted a delegation from the Singapore Food Authority in Hanoi, reaching a consensus to expand strategic cooperation on food security and climate change adaptation.
Critical Reception Held in Hanoi
At the official meeting held at the headquarters of the Vietnamese National Assembly institutions, the Standing Committee of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment received the delegation from the Singapore Food Authority.
During the talks, the parties evaluated steps to strengthen bilateral relations and discussed joint areas of work.
Emphasis on Climate and Food Security
National Assembly Deputy and Committee Member Nguyen Thi Kim Anh expressed appreciation for the Singaporean side's proposals on climate change adaptation and regional food security.
It was particularly emphasized that this cooperation mechanism will provide both sides with a valuable scientific foundation and practical field experience.
Expansion Target for the Future Period
SFA Director-General Abdul Jalil Abdul Kader expressed his gratitude to the Standing Committee for the hospitality shown and wished for further growth in areas of cooperation in the future.
The importance of strengthening ties between governing bodies and local units was emphasized.
Digital Transformation and Technology Partnership
Committee member Ngo Sy Cuong proposed taking concrete steps in the fields of resource management, environment, climate change, and food governance.
It was decided to increase experience sharing in institutional structuring, database development, the integration of science and technology, and digital transformation in food safety.
