Gökçeada Agricultural Route Organized in Cooperation with ÇOMÜ and TÜME Foundation
The TÜME Agricultural Route Program, carried out to increase Gökçeada's agricultural potential, brought science and technology together with regional producers.
Organized in partnership with the Agricultural Technologies Clustering Foundation and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, the TÜME Agricultural Route Program discussed Gökçeada's agricultural potential on the axis of science, technology, and sustainability.
Purpose and Scope of the Program
Organized in Gökçeada in cooperation with the Agricultural Technologies Clustering Foundation and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, the TÜME Agricultural Route Program aimed to uncover the island's agricultural potential. The program was implemented to spread the use of innovative agricultural technologies and develop sustainable production models.
Broadly Participated Meeting
The program, where Gökçeada's agricultural future was addressed along the axes of science, technology, environment, and production, was attended by Gökçeada District Governor Osman Acar, ÇOMÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ramazan Cüneyt Erenoğlu, and Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Ergün Demirhan. The event also hosted ÇOMÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Arda Aydın, Gökçeada District Director of Agriculture and Forestry Ömer Şahin, TÜME Foundation executives, young producers, industry representatives, and citizens.
Ecological Values and Technology
Within the scope of the program, evaluations were made regarding bringing Gökçeada's unique agricultural and ecological values together with scientific knowledge and new-generation agricultural technologies. ÇOMÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ramazan Cüneyt Erenoğlu emphasized that the island holds significant potential in terms of sustainability, ecological diversity, rural development, and agricultural technologies.
Meeting with Young Producers
Within the framework of the event, TÜME Board Chairman Abdulkadir Karagöz and national athlete and free-diving world record holder Şahika Ercümen came together with young producers carrying out agricultural activities in Gökçeada. Views on agricultural development and production were exchanged during this meeting.
