International Space Congress in Antalya Breaks Application Records
The congress to be held in Antalya by the International Federation of Astronautics has reached its highest levels in history for paper and participant applications.
The IAC 2026 congress, to be held in Antalya by the International Astronautical Federation, has become a major focus of attention by breaking historical records in the number of paper and participant applications.
Venue and Date of the Congress
Organized annually by the International Astronautical Federation, this year's congress will take place from October 5 to 9 at the Antalya NEST Congress Center, coordinated by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, hosted by the Turkish Space Agency, co-hosted by SAHA Istanbul, with Anadolu Agency serving as the global communication partner.
Historical Record in the Scientific Program
A total of 8,330 abstract submissions from 108 countries were sent to the scientific program of IAC 2026. This figure represents an all-time high in IAC history in terms of both the number of applications and country diversity.
Intense Application Interest from Turkey
A total of 1,810 abstract submissions were received from Turkey for the event. This figure, representing the highest number of applications from a single country, was also recorded as a record.
Accepted Studies and Country Rankings
Following the evaluation process, 4,077 studies were directly accepted, while 542 studies were placed on the alternate list. Turkey ranked first among countries with 674 accepted papers.
High Level of Participant Registrations
In addition to scientific applications, record levels were also reached in participant registrations. More than 3,000 registrations from 83 countries were made for the congress in the early period.
Turquoise the Mascot Welcomes Guests
The organization expects to host over 10,000 participants from more than 100 countries. Thus, the event's mascot, the loggerhead sea turtle Turquoise, will welcome guests with its record-breaking credentials.
