Dak Lak province plans to invest approximately 484 billion VND into 7 priority projects focusing on science, technology, and data applications between 2026 and 2030. With this investment, the development of areas such as electronic medical records, telehealth infrastructure, and artificial intelligence integration is targeted.

Priority Projects and Budget Allocation

According to the proposal by the Department of Health, the total capital requirement for the 7 priority projects planned for the 2026-2030 period has been determined to be approximately 484 billion VND.

Electronic Medical Records and Infrastructure

While electronic medical records constitute the largest portion of the planned budget with approximately 313 billion VND, 48.2 billion VND is allocated for IT infrastructure for telehealth services at health stations.

Artificial Intelligence and Other Digital Areas

While 43.2 billion VND is foreseen for the application of artificial intelligence to support clinical diagnosis and decision-making processes, the remaining budget will be directed toward shared data repositories, disease surveillance, and the pharmaceutical supply chain.

Regulatory and Financing Challenges

While Notice No. 419-TB/TU of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee concretizes the roadmap, Nay Phi La, Director of the Department of Health, stated that the lack of funding and unit price norms create hesitation.

Need for Qualified Human Resources

Through the examples of Phu Yen Eye Hospital and Cu Prao Commune Health Station, it was emphasized that as digitalization deepens, the need for qualified experts for system management and data security increases critically.
