A new survey conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research revealed that a large segment of the US population thinks that artificial intelligence technologies are advancing faster than can be kept up with.

According to the public opinion poll conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, 64 percent of Americans believe that artificial intelligence is developing too fast. While 27 percent of participants find this development normal, only 8 percent are of the opinion that the process is progressing too slowly.

Government Expectations and Priorities

Approximately 80 percent of adults in the US consider it extremely important for the government to keep artificial intelligence under human control and protect the country's workforce. Minimizing environmental damage and growing the economy are also among the priority topics.

Trust in Political Parties and Approaches

The research shows that citizens approach both major political parties with reservations regarding artificial intelligence policies. While a significant portion of participants do not trust the parties' management style in this area, disagreements between the parties also draw attention on certain issues.
