A process has been initiated to link and verify electronic transaction accounts across 12 different sectors with the VNeID electronic identity account.
Under a new government decree, electronic transaction accounts on digital platforms across 12 sectors, including securities, e-commerce, and social media, have been made mandatory to link to the VNeID electronic identity account by specified dates.
Scope and Purpose of the New Decree
Government Decree No. 320, which amends regulations on electronic identity authentication and authorization, entered into force on September 28 with the aim of promoting the use of digital data.
Sectors Required to Establish Links
Pursuant to Article 19 of the decree, 12 sectors have been included in this scope: education, securities, telecommunications, banking, e-commerce, electronic invoices, transportation, tourism, pharmaceuticals, medical examination, and social networks.
Deadlines to Be Met
For the 11 sectors established prior to the effective date of the decree, VNeID linking and verification procedures are required to be completed no later than December 31, 2026.
For electronic banking transaction accounts, the deadline has been set as June 30, 2027.
