Mass production has started for the national high-speed train project
While tests continue for the national high-speed train developed by TÜRASAŞ, the mass production phase has been reached, with a total of 14 sets planned for production between 2027 and 2028.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the mass production process has begun for the national high-speed train developed using domestic resources by TÜRASAŞ, with the goal of producing a total of 14 sets between 2027 and 2028.
Test Processes and Mass Production
Test processes are successfully continuing for the first set, which has an operational speed of 225 kilometers per hour. While tests continue for the first set, which reached a speed of 250 kilometers per hour within the scope of dynamic running safety tests, the production of the second set has started and the mass production process has been initiated.
Production Targets and Features
Within the scope of the national high-speed train projection, it is targeted to produce a total of 14 sets over two years, with 7 sets in 2027 and 7 sets in 2028. The train sets, consisting of eight cars and having a capacity of 577 passengers, are being developed with domestic engineering capabilities.
Domestic Components and Factory Investment
The critical components of the trains, namely the Train Control and Management System and the Traction System, are being nationally designed in cooperation with ASELSAN. Furthermore, work has reached the 90 percent completion level at Turkey's first high-speed train factory, which is built on an area of 18,000 square meters.
