Microsoft Splits Reporting Units Into Two Main Divisions
Technology giant Microsoft is streamlining its corporate reporting segments into two main categories in line with AI-driven changes.
According to statements by CEO Satya Nadella, Microsoft has decided to change its current reporting segments and divide its corporate structure into two main divisions. Within the scope of this structural transformation, the organizational chart is being reshaped.
New Reporting Divisions
Microsoft has decided to leave behind its three previously active reporting segments and consolidate its structure under two main categories. This new arrangement will shape the company's future operational strategies.
Agents and Infra Structure
The newly established Agents and Infra unit, which encompasses AI models, includes GitHub, the Azure cloud infrastructure, and Microsoft 365 equipped with Copilot features. This division constitutes the company's highest-revenue-generating areas.
Devices and Consumer Unit
Forming the other side of the organization, the Devices and Consumer unit houses operational areas such as Xbox, the Windows operating system, the Bing search engine, and the advertising division.
Expected Revenue Projections
The Agents and Infra unit, among the company's newly created segments, is projected to generate approximately 75 billion dollars in revenue in the first quarter of next year. For the Devices and Consumer unit, this figure is expected to be around the 15 billion dollar level.
