Minister Kacır Spoke at the International Astronautical Congress in Antalya
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır shared Turkey's goals and projects in the field of space technologies.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced Turkey's development in space technology, its targets, and the Antalya Declaration for Peace in Space at the 77th International Astronautical Congress held in Antalya.
International Astronautical Congress
The 77th International Astronautical Congress, organized by the International Astronautical Federation, is taking place at the Antalya NEST Congress Center under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and co-hosted by the Turkish Space Agency and SAHA Istanbul.
Global Space Economy
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Kacır stated that the global space economy is expected to exceed 1 trillion 800 billion dollars by 2035, and shared Turkey's goals in this field.
Satellite and Infrastructure Studies
Emphasizing that Turkey is one of the 11 countries capable of producing communication satellites, Kacır provided detailed information on Earth observation satellites, low Earth orbit satellite projects, and the Space Technopark being established in Ankara.
Spaceport in Somalia
Minister Kacır stated that the spaceport, which will secure Turkey's independent access to space, is being built in Somalia, and that this move will increase the country's strategic capacity.
Antalya Declaration
Noting that they pioneered the Antalya Declaration for Peace in Space within the scope of the congress, Kacır announced that 32 ministers, parliamentarians, and space agency representatives from 21 countries supported this declaration.
Investment and Production Ecosystem
Minister Kacır emphasized that Turkey is the right address for pioneering projects in the space field, supported by its strong production ecosystem, dynamic young population, and the HIT-30 High-Technology Investment Program.
