Applications for the National Technology Workshops High School Summer School, run by the Ecosystem Development and Workshops Directorate, have opened. The program will take place with the participation of high school students between July 20 and August 20.

Aim and Scope of the Program

The National Technology Workshops High School Summer School program aims to help high school students interested in technology acquire basic production skills in a workshop environment. Within the scope of the program, students will get acquainted with artificial intelligence and digital production technologies and gain experience in project development processes.

Dates and Participation Conditions

The training, which will last for a total of 36 hours, is planned to take place 3 days a week and 4 hours a day between July 20 and August 20. While the start and end dates of each workshop may vary within this timeframe, students born between 2008 and 2012 will be able to apply for the training.

First Week Training Topics

During the first week of the training, occupational health and safety and workshop usage rules will be covered in detail. Additionally, training will be provided on the use of precision measuring devices, basic mechanical applications, soldering techniques, and 3D digital modeling in the Tinkercad environment.

Second Week Digital Production

In the second week, digital production and artificial intelligence technologies will be addressed, and students will experience the working principles of 3D printers. While basic electronics and sensor programming applications will be carried out via the Arduino platform, the safe, ethical, and productive use of artificial intelligence tools will be explained.

Final Week Project Development

In the final week, students will develop artificial intelligence-supported project ideas through teamwork. The preparation of preliminary evaluation reports suitable for national competition formats and effective project presentation techniques will be demonstrated to students practically.

Certificates of Achievement and Opportunities

Students who successfully complete the program will be granted participation priority in events organized for high schools by the Science and Society Presidency. Furthermore, they will be offered priority in utilizing the National Technology Workshops, the right to directly participate in a TÜBİTAK Science Camp of their choice, and a digital participation certificate.
