New Research Center Established at Sinop University
Operating under Sinop University, SÜBİTAM will guide R&D activities by opening laboratory facilities to joint use.
SÜBİTAM has been established at Sinop University to advance scientific and technological research, and its regulation has been published in the Official Gazette.
Purpose of Establishment
The Sinop University Application and Research Center for Scientific and Technological Research has been established at Sinop University to foster scientific and technological research. The new center aims to ensure coordinated operation of laboratories within the university.
The objectives, fields of activity, management bodies, and working principles of the center were formalized with the regulation published in the Official Gazette dated August 29, 2026.
Fields of Activity and Coordination
SÜBİTAM will establish strong coordination among research laboratories, application centers, and technology transfer offices within the university.
Necessary infrastructure will be established to open advanced research infrastructures for joint use and to allow different units to benefit from R&D and P&D opportunities.
Inventory and Sectoral Cooperation
The center will inventory laboratory devices and equipment within the university and plan for their joint utilization.
SÜBİTAM will not be limited to academic studies alone; it will seek solutions to industry problems and carry out cooperation with the public and private sectors.
Service Areas and Education
The center will provide analytical, testing, measurement, and consultancy services tailored to the food, animal feed, aquaculture, agriculture, environment, energy, and health sectors.
Through the established infrastructure, students will also be provided with opportunities to gain internships and practical analysis experience.
Management Structure and Amendments
The management bodies of SÜBİTAM are designated as the Director, the Board of Directors, and the Advisory Board, with the director being appointed by the Rector for a three-year term.
The Board of Directors will consist of a maximum of eight members, and the Advisory Board will consist of at least 15 members, while the former regulation dated 2012 has been repealed.
