New Science Center on the Shores of Lake Salda Opened with a Ceremony

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır was in Burdur together with Turkish astronauts Alper Gezeravcı, Tuva Cihangir Atasever, Gökhan Erdem, and foreign astronauts who came for an international congress.
Features of the Center and Investment Details
Realized with an investment of 30 million liras with the support of TÜBİTAK, the Salda Science Center was established in the rural area of Lake Salda, which bears geological similarities to the Jezero Crater on Mars.
Exhibition Areas and Planetarium
The permanent exhibition area of the center features various sections such as the Confronting Mars Exhibition, rocket exhibition, Beyond the Horizon Workshop, and the Mars Planetarium.
Lunar Research and Space Goals
In his speech at the opening, Minister Kacır stated that they plan to conduct scientific research in lunar orbit with a national spacecraft in the first months of 2027.
