Semiconductor giant Nvidia has risen to become the world's most active venture capital investor by participating in at least 53 large-scale funding rounds in the first eight months of 2026, outpacing traditional funds.
Increase in Large Rounds
Having participated in only a single funding round of $100 million or more five years ago, Nvidia increased this figure to at least 53 rounds in the first eight months of 2026.
This data enabled the company to surpass well-established venture capital funds such as Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Transformation of the Investment Structure
As the artificial intelligence boom enters a more capital-intensive phase, the training of models and the construction of data centers require massive sources of financing.
Exceeding the limits of traditional financing models, this process forces artificial intelligence companies to simultaneously pursue capital, debt, and strategic partnerships.
Nvidia's Portfolio Value
According to the company's official filings, its equity investments, which stood at approximately $7 billion at the end of July, reached $99 billion with additional commitments included.
The chipmaker is also collaborating with giants like Blackstone, BlackRock, and Goldman Sachs to mobilize hundreds of billions of dollars in third-party capital.
