OMU's 4 Teams Advance to Finals at TEKNOFEST in Şanlıurfa

Ondokuz Mayıs University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın stated that TEKNOFEST held in Şanlıurfa is where technology's spark takes root, noting that the university participated in the festival with 130 students and 17 teams, with 4 teams successfully reaching the finals.

Technology Spark in Şanlıurfa

Ondokuz Mayıs University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın emphasized that for Turkey to have a say in the world, it must develop independent, domestic, national, and original technologies. Aydın stated that TEKNOFEST events are where technology's spark takes root, expressing that this year's spark has fallen on Şanlıurfa.

The Aviation, Space and Technology Festival TEKNOFEST, carried out under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the T3 Foundation, continues to welcome visitors at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport.

OMU Finalist Teams

Ondokuz Mayıs University achieved significant success in competitions held within the scope of TEKNOFEST Southeast. The VORTEX team became a finalist in the Jet Engine Design Competition, while the PARS team reached the finals in the Rotary Wing category of the International Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Competition.

Additionally, the 19TECH team in the Unmanned Marine Vehicle Competition and the CeitssLAB-Onk3T teams in the 3T in Oncology Competition secured their spots in the finals. These teams included students from the faculties of electrical-electronics, mechanical, civil, materials, and industrial engineering, as well as architecture.

National Technology Workshop and Patent Successes

Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın announced that they launched the National Technology Workshop within the university a month ago with the support of TÜBİTAK. She noted that students turn their projects into reality and produce prototypes in these workshops.

Stating that the university is the 12th institution among state universities to hold patents, Aydın announced that they have 5 commercialized patents within their structure and won one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal in the TEKNOFEST results.

AI-Supported Agriculture Project

Aydın stated that within the framework of the agreement between the Agricultural Technologies Clustering Foundation and the Council of Higher Education, they have a project to establish an artificial intelligence-supported agricultural farm. She announced that agreements have been made and this farm will soon become operational.

Touching upon the internationalization process of TEKNOFEST, Aydın emphasized that participations from different countries are observed and that this ecosystem should also be established in friendly nations.
