Weekly stock market and gold evaluation for investors
While the Borsa İstanbul BIST 100 index and gram gold lost value last week, changes in exchange rates remained in focus for investors.
The BIST 100 index on Borsa İstanbul ended the week with a 4.88% loss at 12,270.18 points, while the price of gram gold also declined by 1.53% to 6,613 liras.
Weekly course of the BIST 100 index
The BIST 100 index on Borsa İstanbul completed the week with a 4.88% decrease at 12,270.18 points, seeing a low of 11,926.04 points and a high of 12,750.45 points during the week. The financial index fell by 7.63% to 14,633.06 points, the industrial index dropped by 7.76% to 15,975.44 points, the technology index lost 2.96% to 39,290.84 points, and the services index retreated by 3.34% to 10,934.69 points.
Gains and losses in stocks
Among the stocks included in the BIST 100 index on Borsa İstanbul, Bera Holding was the top gainer this week with 13.81%, followed by Otokar with 12.20% and Borusan Boru with 4.69%. Among the stocks that lost the most value this week was CW Enerji with 18.84%, followed by Astor Enerji with a 15.79% decline and Tukaş with a 15.28% drop.
Companies with the highest market capitalization
Among the companies traded on Borsa İstanbul, ASELSAN was the company with the highest market capitalization at approximately 1 trillion 654 billion liras. ASELSAN was followed by Tüpraş with approximately 726 billion liras and Garanti BBVA with 528 billion liras.
Changes in gold and foreign exchange prices
The gram price of 24-carat bullion gold decreased by 1.53% compared to the end of last week to 6,613 liras, and the selling price of Republican gold fell by 1.39% to 43,250 liras. The selling price of quarter gold dropped by 1.41% below the previous week's close to 10,860 liras.
State of foreign exchange rates
The selling price of the US dollar increased by 0.14% to 49.0350 liras, while the selling price of the euro declined by 0.69% to 55.4680 liras. The selling price of the British pound rose by 0.12% to 64.9970 liras, whereas the Swiss franc lost 0.39% in value and found buyers at 58.8870 liras.
