In his speech at the TEKNOFEST event held in Şanlıurfa, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan drew attention to Turkey's development in the field of technology, stated that young people will safely carry the country's future, and provided information about the investigation into the Soma mining accident.

Soma Accident and Investigation Process

Condolences were extended to the miners who lost their lives in the collapse that occurred in Soma on Thursday, wishing patience to their families and a speedy recovery to the two injured miners still receiving treatment. It was emphasized that nine people were detained regarding the incident, the investigation is continuing multidimensionally, and everyone with negligence and guilt will be held accountable.

TEKNOFEST and Emphasis on Youth

It was observed with pride that young people exhibited their products and turned their dreams into reality at TEKNOFEST, where intellect and labor, intelligence and knowledge meet. It was stated that the country's future is in safe hands and that the Century of Turkey will bear the imprint of the TEKNOFEST generation.

It was stated that Şanlıurfa, the city of prophets, possesses thousands of years of accumulated science, culture, and civilization. It was recalled that Göbeklitepe, the zero point of history, is located within the borders of this city and that thousands of scholars produced their most distinguished works here.

It was announced that participation in the TEKNOFEST Southeast event was quite intense. It was reported that 730,000 teams and over 1.6 million competitors applied for the event, the number of visitors approached 1 million, and participants from 97 countries took part alongside all eighty-one provinces.
