Prof. Dr. Yasemin Açık R&D Center Opened with a Ceremony at Fırat University
The first standalone R&D center completed within Fırat University has opened its doors with a widely attended official ceremony.
Hosted by Fırat University and built to support students' research processes, the Prof. Dr. Yasemin Açık R&D Center was opened with a ceremony attended by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.
High-Level Participation in the Ceremony
Numerous figures from the upper echelons of the state and local protocols participated in the opening ceremony held on the Fırat University campus.
In addition to Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Elazığ Governor Dr. Numan Hatipoğlu and the university administration took part in the program.
Physical and Technical Features of the Center
Having an indoor area of approximately 2,100 square meters, the new structure was presented to the service of students with a two-story architectural design.
The building features a total of 8 departments and 6 different project study areas, establishing an infrastructure for academic studies.
Feature of Being the First Standalone R&D Building
This modern facility that entered service holds the distinction of being Fırat University's first standalone R&D building implemented in the fields of software and informatics.
The building, which was started in 2023 with the university's own resources but remained unfinished, was completed with the support of a philanthropic business person.
Innovative Working Areas Included
Studies will be conducted in the newly opened center in critical fields such as artificial intelligence, defense industry, digital transformation, and robotic automation.
Additionally, the Project Coordination and Consultancy Center and the Code 23 Fırat Software Workshop will actively operate within the facility.
