Quantum Technologies Competition 2026 Finals Begin
As the final excitement of the software and hardware categories begins in the Quantum Technologies Competition held within the scope of TEKNOFEST, young researchers will compete for original solutions.
The final stage in the software and hardware categories is underway at the Quantum Technologies Competition 2026, held within the scope of TEKNOFEST under the coordination of TÜBİTAK, Bilişim Vadisi, and ComPro. A total of 142 teams and 535 participants applied for the organization, which encourages young researchers to produce original solutions in the field of quantum.
General Scope of the Competition
Encouraging university students, graduates, and young researchers from Turkey and abroad to develop original solutions in the field of quantum technologies, the competition consists of two separate categories. A total of 77 participants—comprising 10 teams from the software category and 8 teams from the hardware category—will compete in the final stage of the organization, for which a total of 142 teams and 535 participants applied.
Software Category and Quantum Hackathon
Within the scope of the software category of the competition, participants in the Quantum Hackathon stage will tackle the problem of dynamic allocation optimization in water resources and distribution networks. While 97 teams and 356 members applied to this category, 10 teams and 40 members from these squads succeeded in reaching the finals.
The final stage of the software category will be held between August 28-30, 2026, at the Bilişim Vadisi Gebze Campus.
Hardware Category Applications
The hardware category aims to bring young engineers and researchers together with the most advanced application areas of quantum hardware. While 45 teams and 179 members applied to the category, 8 teams and 37 members earned the right to compete in the final stage.
The final stage of the hardware category will take place on August 26-28, 2026, at the TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus.
Awards to be Given to Ranking Teams
Cash prizes will be provided to the successful teams ranking in both categories of the competition. Teams placing first in the software and hardware categories will be awarded 200,000 TL, those placing second will receive 175,000 TL, and those placing third will receive 150,000 TL.
