Science and Technology Cooperation Talks Between Vietnam and Japan
During high-level contacts held in Hanoi, it was decided that relations between the two countries should evolve from a support-oriented focus to co-creation and concentrate on new technologies.
Vietnam National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Thi Thanh received Saito Hiroaki, Chairman of the Committee on Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of the House of Representatives of Japan, in Hanoi to discuss strategic ties between the two countries.

Vietnam National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Thi Thanh officially hosted the delegation from Japan at the National Assembly building in Hanoi.
Saito Hiroaki, Chairman of the Committee of the House of Representatives of Japan, along with representatives from the Liberal Democratic Party and the Centrist Reform Alliance of Japan, attended the meeting.
Legal Barriers and Technology Transfer
Nguyen Thi Thanh requested the Japanese side's support in removing legal barriers regarding technology transfer and the protection of intellectual property.
It was emphasized that ties between universities and research institutes should be strengthened and joint projects carried out in key areas.
Emphasis on Co-Creation and Education
It was suggested that Vietnam and Japan should transition their relations from a support-oriented mindset to a co-creation-oriented approach.
It was requested that Japan increase the amount of scholarships for Vietnamese students and researchers studying in high-technology fields.
Message of Cooperation from the Japanese Delegation
Saito Hiroaki explicitly stated that he agreed with all the proposals raised by the Vietnam National Assembly Vice Chairman.
It was stated that there is a desire to further advance dialogue and exchange programs between the parliaments and committees of the two countries.
Future Technologies and Potential Areas
Saito Hiroaki noted that there are great opportunities in the fields of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and semiconductor technology.
He stated that they will work in close contact with the National Assembly of Vietnam to develop high-quality human resources.
