Science and Technology Forum Focused on Green and Digital Transformation Held in Quang Ninh
The Quang Ninh City People's Committee held a comprehensive technology and innovation meeting aligned with sustainable development and climate adaptation goals.
Organized by the Quang Ninh City People's Committee on the morning of September 23, 2026, the 2026 Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Forum addressed green transformation and sustainable development goals adapted to climate change.
Purpose and Theme of the Forum
The Quang Ninh City People's Committee hosted an important gathering at the City Conference Center. Held under the main theme of green transformation and digital transformation linked with climate change adaptation, the event aimed to contribute to building a rapidly and sustainably developing city.
Broad Participation in Hybrid Format
The meeting was attended by Nguyen Van Cong, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, alongside central agencies, departments, local government officials, and numerous experts, scientists, and business leaders. The event was implemented in a hybrid format combining in-person and online participation across 54 communes, wards, and special zones.
A Turning Point for the New Development Model
In his opening speech, City People's Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Cong drew attention to the strategic importance of the forum. He emphasized that this gathering constitutes a critical turning point in transitioning to the operational phase of the new development model tied to the Master Plan out to 2050 with a vision to 2075, approved by the Prime Minister.
Planning and Infrastructure Proposals from Experts
Associate Professor Dr. Luu Duc Hai, Director of the Urban Research and Infrastructure Development Institute, shared green and gray urban planning models suitable for coastal, island, and mountainous regions. Experts presented concepts such as sponge cities and nature-based solutions to the participants, exchanging views on green growth and climate action.
New Tasks for Institutions and Exhibition Area
Management levels were asked to integrate digital data to evaluate the carrying capacity of the natural environment. Delegates also visited and inspected a special exhibition area showcasing innovative products in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
