Take-Two Takes Action to Find the Names Behind the GTA 6 Leaks

Gaming giant Take-Two has taken legal action to identify the individuals who leaked information about the highly anticipated game GTA 6. Through the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the company requested that Microsoft and Discord hand over user records associated with the leaks.

Court Process and Requested Information

Take-Two applied to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to uncover the individuals or groups behind the leaks. The company is requesting the delivery of extensive user records, including OneDrive and Xbox data associated with the credentials of the accounts that shared the game videos.

Specifically, account IDs, email addresses, IP information, phone, and device numbers linked to the alias "Cyberleek" are being requested from Microsoft. Additionally, OneDrive content associated with GTA, Rockstar, or Cyberleek is expected to be shared.

Discord Accounts and Delivery Deadline

On the Discord side, the delivery of records belonging to accounts that communicated with users Cyberleek, CinematicRockstar, Surfer24k, and Odyssey is requested. According to the court request, all this requested information must be submitted to the authorities by September 4.

Details of the Leaks and Allegations

The leaks revealed previously unseen features and gameplay mechanics of GTA 6. The account named "Cyberleek," which distributed the videos, claimed that they would share more content if the game does not have a physical boxed version containing a disc.

While the true identities behind the leaks are not yet known, it is also alleged that these posts may have been made to draw attention to a cryptocurrency. Developer Rockstar Games has not yet made an official statement regarding the matter.
