TEKNOFEST 2026 Vertical Landing Rocket Competition Finals Begin
In the organization carried out under the management of TÜBİTAK, young engineers' rockets will compete for autonomous and controlled landing.
The finals of the Vertical Landing Rocket Competition, held within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2026, are starting on September 14-18 at the TÜBİTAK SAGE campus.
Competition Details
Rockets designed by young engineers will compete this time not only to lift off, but also to land on the ground in a controlled and smooth manner.
Date and Location Information
Organized under the main management of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Turkey Technology Team Foundation, the event will take place at the TÜBİTAK SAGE campus between September 14 and 18.
A Global First Feature
First held in 2022, the Vertical Landing Rocket Competition holds the distinction of being the first competition in the world carried out using a Cold Gas Propulsion System.
Final Launch Process
In the final launch, the rocket will be lifted to an altitude of approximately 8-10 meters by the Hovering System, and then it will perform an autonomous landing with avionics systems.
Participation and Awards
In 2026, 331 teams applied for the competition and 15 teams made it to the finals; a total of 750 thousand TL in awards will be given to the winning teams.
