TEKNOFEST Southeast Excitement Begins at Sanliurfa GAP Airport

Held for the first time in Sanliurfa, TEKNOFEST Southeast is hosting technology enthusiasts between September 30 and October 4. Drawing more than 1.6 million contestants from 99 countries, the festival hosts various exhibitions and competitions within the scope of the National Technology Move.

Realized under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the T3 Foundation, and STM, TEKNOFEST Southeast opened its doors at Sanliurfa GAP Airport. Having a history of 12 million visitors, the festival meets the local public this year with technology competitions in 14 different categories and air shows.

Great Competition in Technology Contests

More than 1,600,000 contestants from 99 countries applied for the technology competitions held within the scope of the festival. In the process realized with the participation of over 730,000 teams, 2,000 teams that passed the preliminary eliminations succeeded in reaching the finals.

It is planned to provide a total support exceeding 100 million liras to the participants who rank in the competitions. Finals are held in a total of 14 different fields, with 11 new categories added this year.

Air Shows and National Vehicles

Turkey's national land, sea, and air vehicles are exhibited in the event area. Visitors find the opportunity to closely examine platforms such as ATAK helicopters, HÜRKUŞ, ANKA, Bayraktar TB2, TB3, and AKINCI, alongside the breathtaking shows of SOLOTÜRK and the Turkish Stars.

Cultural and Scientific Events

TEKNOFEST Chairman of the Board Selçuk Bayraktar emphasized that the festival is a revolution of self-confidence, drawing attention to the critical role of youth in the National Technology Move. The event also features experience areas inspired by Göbeklitepe, a planetarium, and science shows.

Among the events reflecting the historical texture of Sanliurfa are also local delicacies and traditional musical nights known as sıra geceleri. Aviation workshops special for children and agriculture-technology meetings attract intense interest from visitors.
