TÜBA-TEKNOFEST PhD Science Awards Find Their Winners
Within the scope of TEKNOFEST held in Şanlıurfa, 15 successful young scientists who stood out with their original PhD theses were presented with their awards.
At the ceremony held within the scope of TEKNOFEST Şanlıurfa, the authors of original PhD theses produced in Turkey and overlapping with the festival's priority areas received the 2026 TÜBA-TEKNOFEST PhD Science Awards.
Ceremony and Award Presentation
The awards, implemented by TÜBA to contribute to the development of qualified human resources, found their owners at a ceremony held in Şanlıurfa. The first-place winners of the award program were presented with their awards by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Ministry and Certificate Presentation
In addition to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan presenting the awards to the first-place winners, the award certificates were presented to a total of 15 successful scientists by Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır.
Evaluated Fields
In the program where original PhD theses produced in Turkey and overlapping with the priority areas of TEKNOFEST were examined, the fields of Science and Engineering, Health and Life, Social and Humanities, and Basic Sciences were evaluated.
First-Place Awards and Recipients
Sezer Önbilgin from Science and Engineering Sciences, Ahmet Kağızman from Health and Life Sciences, Adem Kantar from Social and Humanities Sciences, and Musa Dırak from Basic Sciences were deemed worthy of the first-place awards.
Award Amount and Other Winners
The thesis owners deemed worthy of the first-place award were given a monetary prize of 200 thousand TL. Furthermore, within the scope of the program, a total of 15 scientists in four different categories were rewarded for their achievements.
