Turkey Will Demonstrate Its Competence in Deep Space Technologies with Its First Moon Mission
Within the framework of Turkey's first Moon mission, post-launch operations will be carried out with a deep space vehicle prepared with a domestic production rate of over 80 percent.
With the Moon Exploration Program within the scope of the National Space Program announced at the 77th International Astronautical Congress at the Antalya NEST Congress Center, Turkey's first deep space mission is being brought to life.
Indigenous Deep Space Vehicle
The development of the deep space vehicle, designed entirely with domestic resources and having a domestic production rate of over 80 percent, continues.
Thanks to this developed spacecraft, Turkey will find the opportunity to demonstrate its competence in deep space technologies in the international arena.
Launch and Mission Duration
The high-technology spacecraft is planned to be launched in the second quarter of 2027, and preparations are progressing according to this schedule.
While the envisaged mission is planned to last 5 to 6 months, it is stated that this duration can be extended up to 1.5 years in subsequent stages.
Global Position and Goals
With this important project being carried out, Turkey aims to become the 9th country in the world capable of reaching the Moon and performing an ambitious mission using its own means.
