Agreement Signed with Save the Children for Healthcare Services in Afghanistan
A multi-million-dollar protocol has been signed to provide primary healthcare services in Kandahar and Faryab provinces.
The Afghan Ministry of Health has signed a two-year memorandum of understanding with Save the Children International to strengthen primary healthcare services and reach thousands of people in Kandahar and Faryab provinces.
Details of the Memorandum
The Afghan Ministry of Health announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Save the Children International to strengthen healthcare services in Kandahar province in the south and Faryab province in the north of the country. According to the statement made by the ministry on Wednesday, this initiative aims to support the healthcare infrastructure in the region.
Budget and Number of Beneficiaries
It was announced that the total value of the signed agreement is 1 million 668 thousand US dollars. With this comprehensive funding, primary healthcare services are planned to be delivered to a total of 65,263 people in the two provinces.
Facilities to Provide Services
It was stated that the healthcare services will be provided through three different healthcare facilities where a total of 50 trained health workers will serve. It was expressed that this two-year initiative will be carried out in accordance with established standards.
Local Needs and the Healthcare System
It was stated that priority will be given to meeting the specific health needs of local communities within the framework of the initiative. On the other hand, Afghanistan's healthcare system continues to face severe pressure due to cuts in aid.
