Urban Development Law Introduces New Policies for Technology and Innovation
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology announced that groundbreaking mechanisms for technology, innovation, and digital transformation will be implemented within the framework of the Urban Development Law.
Tran Trong Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, stated that the Urban Development Law offers superior policies and groundbreaking mechanisms in the fields of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
New Breakthroughs Overcoming Bottlenecks
The mechanisms and policies regarding science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in the Urban Development Law aim to eliminate existing bottlenecks and create new breakthroughs with superior policies.
This situation was emphasized by Tran Trong Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, at a conference organized for the development and support of innovation activities related to the Urban Development Law.
Holistic Approach and Decrees
The mechanisms of the Urban Development Law are based on a holistic approach covering the entire process from ideation to research, intellectual property development, startup incubation, and commercialization.
To date, the City People's Council has issued a total of six decrees in the fields of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
Future Plans and Drafts
Between October and December, the city is expected to issue further decrees aimed at implementing the Urban Development Law.
The Department of Science and Technology plans to draft a decree that will establish superior mechanisms for innovative and entrepreneurial universities while addressing bottlenecks.
Support Provided to the Startup Ecosystem
Hoang Thi Thoa, Director of the Innovation Center at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, one of the direct beneficiaries of the policy, stated that the university has accessed numerous support policies from the city since 2023.
The new resolution of the City People's Council continues to support the startup ecosystem, creating favorable conditions for units to enhance their innovative activities.
