US Calls on G20 Countries for Joint Principles in Artificial Intelligence

G20 Innovation Ministers Meeting
The US called on G20 members to establish joint principles in the fields of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence. The first day of the meeting was held in the city of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
At the meeting, promoting innovation in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, expanding their use in the public sector, and developing a skilled workforce were discussed.
Carolina Principles Adopted
Michael Kratsios, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, stated that the G20 Innovation Working Group finalized the Carolina Principles.
It was stated that G20 members who adopted the principles agreed on goals such as investing in fundamental research and ensuring the adoption of reliable technology.
Elon Musk's Evaluations
Attending the event via videoconference, Elon Musk stated that excessive regulations slow down technological progress. Musk said he estimates that artificial intelligence will grow the global economy by 20 to 30 percent.
Mark Zuckerberg's Statements
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared that they are working on artificial intelligence agents. Zuckerberg argued that open source should not be restricted and that technology should be the power of everyone.
