Trump Says He'll Sign Order Renaming Artificial Intelligence 'Super Intelligence' - The Daily Signal

US President Donald Trump announced he will sign a strong executive order making the name 'superintelligence' or 'SI' for short, which will replace the phrase artificial intelligence, official. Along with this move, the America.gov website, aimed at facilitating citizens' access to federal services, was also introduced to the public.

Era of Superintelligence Instead of Artificial Intelligence

President Donald Trump argued that the term artificial intelligence is artificial and inadequate, announcing that the official name in the United States will be changed to superintelligence or SI. Stating that he will sign a comprehensive executive order within this scope, Trump expressed that he also discussed this issue with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Expert Views on the Name Change

Brendan Steinhauser, CEO of the Alliance for Secure AI, expressed concerns, arguing that this term change could blur the line between current tools and possible future systems, and that general intelligence has not yet been fully reached.

Strategic and Political Evaluations

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon stated that these steps support the argument that artificial superintelligence is rapidly approaching. It was also stated that this naming might be an effort not to legitimize Senator Bernie Sanders' bill aimed at banning artificial superintelligence.

America.gov Website Launched

The first part of the America.gov website, which aims to provide citizens with faster access to government services and works with artificial intelligence infrastructure, was put into service. The site will enable federal agencies to directly integrate public services.

Reducing Bureaucracy in Services

Thanks to the new platform, it is planned to quickly resolve complex bureaucratic processes such as name changes for married women and easily obtain documents such as social security cards, passports, and insurance cards by mail.
