US President Donald Trump has announced that he will present medals to world-renowned technology leaders, including Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, Sergey Brin, and Lisa Su, for their contributions to science and innovation.

Prestigious Awards for Tech Leaders

According to the statement made by the White House, Elon Musk, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Alphabet co-founder Sergey Brin, and AMD CEO Lisa Su have been deemed worthy of the National Medal of Science.

On the other hand, it was announced that Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will be awarded the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.

Artificial Intelligence and Regulatory Approach

Evaluated as a reflection of Trump's close relations with the tech world, this award ceremony is being organized right after discussions regarding artificial intelligence safety.

President Trump supports introducing voluntary rules and operating self-regulation mechanisms rather than strict federal regulations for artificial intelligence technologies.

Education and Research Support

As part of the upcoming summit, more than $100 million in funding is expected to be transferred to STEM education programs for the benefit of US researchers.

Additionally, it was announced that National Compute will donate $100 million in computing power credits to be made available for scientific research.
