Speaking at the 2026 National Innovation Day organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that the country must make a strong transition from activity-focused approaches to concrete results in innovation and digital transformation processes.

Strategic Goals and Priorities

In accordance with the Politburo's Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation has been designated as the country's top priority breakthrough area.

The country aims to be among the top 3 countries in Southeast Asia in digital competitiveness, e-government development, and artificial intelligence research by 2030.

Results-Oriented Approach

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that in the new phase, there must be a strong transition from merely having activities in innovation to achieving tangible results.

It was stated that the impact of innovation must be evaluated through concrete results and the added value it creates for the economy, government, businesses, and the public.

Three Key Task Groups

Clearly defining the innovation responsibilities of each ministry, sector, and local government has been established as the first key task group.

Strongly encouraging technological innovation within enterprises and developing the science and technology market are targeted.

The development of a national innovation system, qualified human resources, and international cooperation will contribute to the process.
