Work Begins on Developing Science, Technology, and Innovation Zone in Son La
Authorities conducted field research and examined current conditions and infrastructure needs for the planned science, technology, and innovation zone in Son La province.
Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee, met with relevant agencies and institutes to conduct field inspections aimed at developing a research, application, science, technology, and innovation zone in Van Son ward.

On September 23, Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, held a working meeting in Son La to inspect the project for developing a research, application, science, technology, and innovation zone in Van Son ward.
Establishment and Activities of the Center
The Innovation and Digital Transformation Support Center was established by a decision dated November 26, 2025, and the research area in Van Son Ward with an investment of 45 billion VND was completed in 2020 and handed over to the Department of Science and Technology.
To date, the center has implemented 10 models and 2 grassroots-level projects, collaborated on 1 provincial-level project, and signed cooperation agreements in the agricultural sector.
Current Challenges and Needs
Some greenhouses, electricity and water systems, and equipment in the research area are deteriorated, limiting the use of the facilities and resources from meeting expansion requirements.
Future Plans and Directives
Provincial People's Committee Vice Chairman Dang Ngoc Hau requested relevant departments to complete land procedures and comprehensively review existing public assets to increase resource efficiency.
