The workshop took place at the Lai Chau Provincial Cultural Conference Center under the theme "Science, technology, and innovation: Key drivers of socio-economic growth in Lai Chau province."
The meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Tran Le Hong, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Office under the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Dr. Duong Dinh Duc, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Lai Chau province.

Delivering the opening remarks, Dr. Duong Dinh Duc emphasized that science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation enhance the quality of the economy.
Attention was drawn to the fact that these elements also play a key role in boosting the region's competitiveness.
Policy Steps and Strategic Decisions
Lai Chau province closely followed the Politburo's Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW to establish a strategic roadmap.
Within this scope, Resolution No. 10-NQ/TU, outlining the steps to be taken until 2030, was officially issued on March 5, 2026.
Technical Issues and Tasks Addressed
During the workshop sessions, topics such as innovation centers, digital infrastructure, smart unmanned aerial vehicles, and technology transfer were discussed in detail.
Nguyen Tuan Anh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, pointed out four main groups of tasks, including the improvement of the legal environment and the establishment of intellectual property rights.
Test Bed Proposal and Expectations
The Lai Chau administration proposed to the Ministry of Science and Technology that the region serve as a controlled test bed for new technologies and autonomous devices.
With this initiative, digital platforms are targeted to contribute more effectively to regional development.
