Established within the Yeşilyurt Nation's Garden with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and TÜBİTAK, the Yeşilyurt Science Center has provided hands-on science and technology training to 1,500 students since opening in July.
Activities of the Science Center
Established with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and TÜBİTAK, alongside the efforts of the Yeşilyurt Municipality R&D Directorate, the center brings children and youth together with the world of science.
Operating within the Yeşilyurt Nation's Garden, the Yeşilyurt Science Center enhances children's curiosity about science while developing their research and inquiry skills.
Training Programs and Workshops
The center organizes hands-on training in various fields, ranging from experiments to coding, for preschool children aged 4-6 and elementary and middle school students aged 7-14.
During workshops, students have the opportunity to practice in areas such as algorithm creation, basic software logic, robot design, and digital production processes.
Astronomy and Space Studies
Operating within the Science Center, the Astronomy, Space, and Aviation Workshop stands out as one of the educational areas that attracts the highest student interest.
In this workshop, children get the opportunity to closely examine planets, the Solar System, stars, and space technologies through hands-on training.
New Term Registrations
Continuing its activities within the scope of the 2026-2027 Academic Year, the center's new term training sessions are receiving intense interest from students.
While 302 students applied for TEKNOFEST training sessions, 194 students enrolled for other practical science and technology training programs.

Yeşilyurt Mayor Prof. Dr. İlhan Geçit expressed his satisfaction with the intense interest shown in the center, stating that they aim to raise qualified generations.
Mayor Geçit emphasized that the center is an important educational hub that will train the engineers and scientists of the future.
