The AI industry is booming. Women are getting left behind

While rapid growth continues in the artificial intelligence sector, it is stated that women are failing to secure sufficient positions in this emerging field and are falling behind the workforce.

Disproportionate Distribution in the Sector

According to LinkedIn data, women accounted for only about a quarter of new artificial intelligence roles last year. In contrast, this rate was at fifty percent in non-artificial intelligence fields.

Senior and Executive Positions

The proportion of women in executive and senior-level positions within the artificial intelligence field drops to thirteen percent. This situation points to a major inequality in terms of advancing up the career ladder.

The Gap in Financial Earnings

Men working in artificial intelligence professions earn an average of $45,000 more based on median pay compared to women, and the wage gap is widening progressively.

Risky and Low-Paid Roles

While female employees are predominantly concentrated in low-paid positions such as data labeling, they occupy a larger share in areas vulnerable to the threat of artificial intelligence, such as customer service.
