Young inventors meet at the Junioruni launch event in Bornova
Organized in cooperation with the Bornova Municipality and the Goethe Institute, the Junioruni event enabled young people to produce hands-on projects across six different stations.
Bringing young people together with science, technology, and innovation, the Junioruni Launch Event was held at the Bornova Municipality Mevlana Society and Science Center in cooperation with the German Goethe Institute.
Details of the event
The organization, which took place with the participation of approximately sixty students aged between thirteen and sixteen, lasted for five hours. The scientists of the future personally produced their own projects at hands-on stations.
Learning model and objective
The main objective of the event is to offer students a learning model based on curiosity, teamwork, and application beyond theoretical knowledge. Young people developed solutions in coding and design processes through teamwork.
Thematic station experiences
Participating students had an interactive experience by carrying out activities in thirty-minute tours across six different thematic stations specially created for them.
Technology and space stations
While students using virtual reality glasses explored the depths of space, young people introduced to microcontrollers programmed mini-computers to design their own special LED signals.
Robotics and sustainability
Developing the algorithms of smart robots that overcome obstacles and collect objects, the young people analyzed the environmental impacts of daily decisions and assigned themselves sustainability tasks.
Engineering and nature discoveries
Students building bridges capable of carrying the highest weight with limited materials took on the role of naturalists to examine leaves, pinecones, and stones, learning scientific classification methods.
