Turkey's second-quarter economic growth data announced
According to official data released, the Turkish economy grew by 2.3 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of the year, falling below expectations.
The Turkish economy recorded a growth rate of 2.3 percent in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period of the previous year. According to TURKSTAT data, quarterly growth stood at 1.1 percent.

The expectations of institutions participating in the Bloomberg HT survey pointed to an annual growth of 2.7 percent. The quarterly growth expectation had been set at 1 percent.
Sectoral Growth and Contraction Rates
When the activities forming the GDP are examined, the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector showed a growth of 13.3 percent. The industry sector grew by 2.4 percent, and financial and insurance activities grew by 2.1 percent.
While real estate activities increased by 2.1 percent, the trade, transportation, accommodation, and food services sector grew by 0.5 percent. Meanwhile, the construction sector contracted by 1.9 percent during this period.
Gross Domestic Product Values
The gross domestic product estimate by production method registered an increase of 36.0 percent at current prices in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
With this increase, the GDP at current prices reached 19 trillion 869 billion 747 million TL. The second-quarter value of the GDP in US dollar terms materialized at 438 billion 347 million at current prices.
