Weather and temperature warnings across Turkey until the end of September
Meteorology expert Orhan Şen issued warnings regarding the weather conditions lasting until the end of September in Turkey, stating that temperatures will drop next week.
CNN TÜRK Meteorology Consultant Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen made critical evaluations regarding the weather conditions, which will remain above seasonal normals across Turkey until the end of September, and reported that temperatures will drop starting from the second half of next week.
Temperatures Above Seasonal Norms
Summer weather continues to maintain its effect across Turkey despite entering the month of September. While thermometers in Istanbul read 32 degrees Celsius, temperatures are expected to drop starting from Tuesday next week.
This upcoming drop will pull temperatures down to September average levels of 26-27 degrees Celsius. Temperatures are projected to remain high across Turkey until the end of September and the first week of October.
Wildfire Risk Warning for Antalya and the Aegean
Due to the foehn effect created by winds blowing from the north in Antalya, temperatures reached 41 degrees Celsius. This situation escalates the risk of forest fires in the region.
Because wind speeds exceed 40 kilometers per hour, alongside high temperatures and low humidity rates, caution is urged around Antalya, Muğla, and Aydın.
Weather Change Starting Next Week
While a weather favorable for outdoor activities dominated most of Turkey over the weekend, temperatures will drop by 5-6 degrees starting from the second half of next week.
It was stated that with the decrease in temperatures, rainy weather will begin to take effect across the country, leaving summer temperatures behind.
